Whether your baby was just diagnosed as d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or it's a recent childhood diagnosis, you may be feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or have lots of questions. That’s completely normal. This journey is unique for every family—and you don’t have to walk it alone.
Massachusetts Hands & Voices is a parent-driven community dedicated to providing unbiased support, resources, and connection to families of children who are d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing—no matter when the diagnosis happens. Many of us have been where you are, and we’re here for you.

If your child’s hearing difference was just identified—whether at birth, toddler years, or later—it's important to have a thorough hearing evaluation with a pediatric audiologist to understand the degree and type of hearing loss.

If your child is under age 3, you may be eligible for Early Intervention services that support your child’s development and provide guidance to your family.

If your child is age 3 or older, contact your local school district to learn about special education services, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) designed to support children who are d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
